This watercolour depicts the actor Eric Emerson, the model Gervase Griffiths and the fashion designer Ossie Clark and is based on a series of drawings made in a New York apartment in late 1968. It served as inspiration for the series of aquatints Language of Flowers, published in 1970 by Editions Alecto.
