Eileen Agar retrospective at Jerwood Gallery, Hastings
The Redfern Gallery is pleased to announce that a new retrospective of Eileen Agar RA is taking place at Jerwood Gallery, Hastings. The exhibition features work from the 1930s to the 1980s, in a range of media, including early collages, sculpture, photographs, and a painted turtle shell. Among the paintings on display is the large acrylic on canvas Figures in a Garden, of 1979-81, which is on loan from the Tate. Works are also on loan from the Jerwood's own collection, as well as from the Government Art Collection, Arts Council and the Royal Academy of Arts. This is the latest retrospective on the artist, following exhibitions at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh, and at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester.
