We are pleased to present En atelier, a film by Ron and Meriel Kenley.
The art writer David Anfam and the artist Pierre Skira meet in the latter's Paris atelier. The two men discuss the making of art and its many-sided issues and consequences. The space of Skira's workshop is revealed as an instrument in itself and the background to the creative spirit.
En Atelier forms part of a larger project on the life and work of art historian
David Anfam. Of First and Last, mainly filmed at the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver, Colorado, is a singular biography, encompassing not just visual art but also diverse insights into culture, history, identity and society.
En Atelier is not the first film about Pierre Skira. Olivier Etcheverry's beautifully crafted film Vie coye was made in 1985.
