Biography

1910 Born in Richmond upon Thames
1927 Studied at St John's Wood School of Art, under Pat Millard
1929-32 Studied at the Royal Academy Painting Schools
1936 Turned to sculpture
1954 Moved from Oxfordshire to Oundle, where he began to teach art
1959 Bought a brewery in Oundle, which he converted into a studio and living space
